Responsibilities of the Wound Care Nurse:
- Assess, plan, and implement wound care treatment plans tailored to each patient’s unique needs.
- Educate patients and their families on proper wound care practices and self-management techniques.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care for patients.
- Document changes in patient conditions and maintain accurate records of wound care.
- Stay up-to-date with best practices and advancements in wound care management.
Qualifications of a Wound Care Nurse:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the state of employment.
- Certification in Wound Care (preferred) or a commitment to obtain certification.
- Previous experience in wound care or home health is preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and patient care skills.
- Valid driver’s license required.
