Our Nurse and Caregiver Benefits

Health Insurance

Employees working 30 or more hours per week may participate in Excel’s health insurance after the first full calendar month worked for Excel.

HSA Account

Employees working 30 or more hours per week may participate in an HSA account. Employees must pick a qualifying HNE account. Employees will then set up their own HSA account with the Bank Institute of their choice. An HSA account allows you to set aside money on a pre-tax basis to pay for qualified medical expenses. These include deductibles, copays, coinsurance, and some other expenses.

Vision Insurance

Employees working 35 or more hours per week may participate in Excel’s vision insurance after the first full calendar month worked for Excel.

Dental Insurance

All employees, full-time or part-time, who work more than 20 hours per week may participate in Excel’s dental insurance plan offering after the first full calendar month worked for Excel.

401K Retirement Plan

All employees who worked 1000 hours or more in a calendar year, are twenty-one years old, and have been employed for at least one year are also eligible to participate in the 401(k) Savings and Retirement Plan with up to a 4% company match. Information relative to the plan offered will be provided to employees upon hire and to current employees as received by Excel. It is your choice to participate and your responsibility to provide Excel with notice of your intentions.

Life Insurance and AD&D

All employees who work 35 hours or more a week are eligible to participate in Term Life and AD&D Insurance. This plan provides a valuable benefit at no cost to you! A cash benefit of $25,000 to your loved ones in the event of your death, plus a matching cash benefit if you die in an accident.

Sick Time

Employees accrue sick time in accordance with Massachusetts Law. Sick time accrues at the rate of one hour for every thirty hours worked per benefit year, up to a maximum of forty hours in the year. Unused sick time will not be paid out at the time of an employee’s separation from Employment. Excel maintains a comprehensive sick-time policy applicable to all employees and attached hereto.

Paid Family Medical Leave Contributions

Effective October 1, 2019, contributions will begin to be collected through payroll deductions to be paid to the “Department of Family and Medical Leave Employment Security Trust Fund”. Such contributions are required by law. An explanation concerning such deductions can be found in the Family and Medical leave policy described in Appendix C as well as the required state posting explaining the state Paid Family and Medical Leave program.

Short Term Disability/Accident/PPO Dental/Cancer/Hospital Insurance

All employees who work are eligible for additional coverage under Colonial Life. Colonial Life offers additional benefits to our employees. Yearly open enrollment in October for short term disability. Speak with your local office to find out more.
