Honored to Excel in Massachusetts
Excel Nursing is proud to share that Excel Home Care Services has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report as one of the nation’s Best Home Health agencies, earning a “High Performing” rating for its work serving patients and families in Massachusetts.
U.S. News evaluated Medicare-certified home health agencies across Massachusetts on healthcare quality and patient experience using publicly reported data from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). Agencies were assessed on quality of care, including patient outcomes and avoidance of preventable hospitalizations, as well as patient experience gathered from national surveys of patients and family caregivers. Excel Home Care Services was named among a select group of “High Performing” agencies, a distinction that signals strong clinical results and consistently positive feedback from those receiving care.
For the Excel team, this recognition is both exciting and deeply meaningful. It validates years of investment in training, care coordination, and personalized support designed to help clients remain safely and confidently at home. It also underscores Excel’s commitment to Western and Central Massachusetts communities, where nurses, therapists, and caregivers work around the clock to deliver reliable, relationship-based care.
Recognition from the Home Care Alliance
Excel was also recently highlighted by the Home Care Alliance of Massachusetts (HCA) alongside peer agencies recognized in the same U.S. News analysis. In its February communication, the Alliance emphasized that U.S. News identified only a smaller group of providers as High Performing among the state’s 310 Medicare-certified home health agencies, reflecting “strong clinical outcomes and consistently positive patient feedback.”
The Alliance further noted that “these rankings provide independent validation of the work agencies do every day—often under challenging regulatory, workforce, and reimbursement conditions.” It also stressed that for patients and families, the ratings are “a helpful tool when choosing a provider,” while for providers, “they serve as a benchmark and a point of pride.” Excel is honored to be counted in this group and to represent HCA Massachusetts as a trusted home health partner in the region.
What This Means for Families
For families weighing home health options, this recognition offers an independent signal that Excel’s care meets rigorous quality and experience benchmarks set against national standards. U.S. News uses CMS data to combine quality and experience scores into an overall rating, allowing agencies like Excel to be measured against peers across the country. The Home Care Alliance has highlighted how such rankings underscore “the critical role high-quality home health agencies play in reducing hospital utilization and supporting care in the home,” a role Excel is proud to fulfill every day.
Excel Nursing and Excel Home Care Services extend heartfelt thanks to their nurses, aides, therapists, office staff, and—most importantly—the clients and families who place their trust in them. This recognition is a shared achievement and a powerful motivation to continue elevating home health care across Massachusetts.
